>>>ARTICHOKE (Poland)
INEVITABLE RELAPSE OF ILLNESS (previously ARTICHOKE) is a portmanteau comedy, telling a story of one family. It’s a tale of people whose unwavering lives change in a swift when their lovers bring them deepest of their fears.
Anna (29) is a career concentrated woman with an anti-family attitude. She freaks out when falls in love with an artist she almost run over.
Her older sister Monika (35) is an ex-violinist who gave up her career for raising kids. Her husband gets redundant but keeps the fact a secret. The situation is revealed only when it’s too late.
Artur (25), still in the closet, falls for a sixteen year old boy who seems to be more mature than he is. This teenager makes him do the thing he’s deeply afraid of. He makes him come out.
Finally their mother Barbara (60), kind and loving but somehow a cliché house-wife discovers her husband’s love affair. It makes her feel down in the dumps and then… Liberated
