Gyula Gazdag - Head Of Studies
Gyula Gazdag is a professor and former vice-chair of production at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television; and Artistic director at the Sundance Institute's Filmmakers Lab in Utah, and their Central European Screenwriting Institute.

He is an accomplished and iconodastic Hungarian director of theater, film, and television. His numerous feature films include "A HUNGARIAN FAIRY TALE" (winner of a Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival, Best Feature Film of the Year of the Hungarian Film Critics, one of the year's ten best films on the Village Voice's list, screened in twenty festivals worldwide, including Cannes, Directors' Fortnight), "STAND OFF" (winner of a Special Juiy Prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival, screened at eight film festivals), "LOSTILLUSIONS", (winner for the Best screenplay at the Hungarian Film Week), "SWAP", "SINGING ON THE TREADMILL", (banned for ten years) and "THE WHISTLING COBBLESTONE" (banned for foreign exhibition for twelve years, winner of Best First Feature Film from the Hungarian Film Critics). Gazdag has also directed many documentaries including "A POET ON THE LOWER EAST SIDE", "HUNGARIAN CHRONICLES", "PACKAGE TOUR", "THE BANQUET" (banned for two years), "THE RESOLUTION" (banned for twelve years, one of the best 100 documentaries of all times on the International Documentary list), "THE SELECTION", (banned for fourteen years), and "THE LONG DISTANCE RUNNER". For the stage, he has directed "Candide ", "The Bald Soprano", and "The Abductionfrom the Seraglio", "The Tempest", " TomJones", and "The Hothouse", among many others.
