Jonathan English
Jonathan graduated from Bournemouth Film and Television School in England in 1992. After graduating, Jonathan produced a number of short drama films for television before establishing the production company Meltemi Entertainment. The fist film produced by Meltemi was the UK romantic comedy So this is Romance. Jonathan then began to develop a range of projects under the Meltemi label and to establish a number of important co-production relationships with other countries. From these ventures spurned a series of co-productions including Married Unmarried, Emile starring Ian McKellen a UK/Canadian production, The Poet starring Dougrey Scott a UK/German/Austrian production and A Good Woman starring Scarlett Johansson, Helen Hunt and Tom Wilkinson a UK, Italian and Spanish co-production which was released in the US by Lions Gate.
While acting as a producer on these various films Jonathan also began to develop the feature film, Minotaur, as a director. The film was a US/European co-production also for Lions Gate and released in 2006. It has gone on to become one of the highest played films on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2007 and developed a cult following from that audience.
Jonathan now resides in Los Angeles where he works as a director and producer on a wide range of studio and independent projects.
